Item of the Day - Big Turquoise Blue Hoops

I love huge earrings.  Not that these are THAT big, but they have a lot of attitude!  And even though they are larger, they aren't very heavy. I think, if I had overdone (or done more) blue beads, they would have been.  Glad I didn't. :)

Turquoise with brass is one of my favorite color combos, so I use it often.  It is such an awesome contrast.

Simply Earrings

Simple, easy to wear earrings. :)

Just sharing a few colors I've made...  I love the bold colors next to the copper, but the pretty tangerine ones at the bottom are awesome too.  I just love copper, I guess. 

Back to knitting baby hats I go.  I just wanted to share some of my favorite earrings.

Cha-cha-changes

It's been since January 21st since I last posted on here, but I have a very good reason...  I was pregnant and not feeling well at all.

And then I had my daughter ten weeks early on February 15th.  So I had a delightful little bundle of joy way before she was ready. Before I was too. I have a Caring Bridge site for her here: Lauren Jean.  That link takes you to the first post I ever put up, explaining what happened exactly.  It's painful for me and a long story so I won't elaborate about it on here. If you want to read it, and understand, then please do. If not, just know that I'm so happy to be a mother to a wonderful, now healthy girl and I plan on being a work-at-home mom. She is still in the hospital until they deem her fit to go home, but she's doing very well.

So, the cha-cha-changes are that I'm lucky enough to be a stay/work-at-home mom!  That means I get to focus on my girl AND jewelry making and knitting!  And crocheting... And sewing if I want!!!!  I'm excited if you can't tell.

I have to get back to some custom orders, but I wanted to share a couple new items. :)

Soooo Shiny....

I have a new fetish  love for seed beads.  Shiny little black, crystal clear, gold and silver ones to be exact.  I've had several pieces made but (since the late Spring hit us) the garden HAD to go in later than planned.  It's all in, flowers and veggies, which is great, but, again, I'm behind on showing off the pretties.

Here's the garden... We had to rip up all the sod underneath where the mulch was and then add black fabric and two scoops of mulch.  I did most of it myself... and I really need to do more squats evidently because my body hurt mucho badly after.  :)  I don't have a good photo of the back veggie garden, but it got the same treatment but is 15 x 60 feet or so.  Needless to say, we've been busy.

Here are a few of my favorite new pieces....  The earrings came to me one night as I was working and I could barely contain myself. I just HAD to create them and they turned out perfect.  The necklace is a little less dramatic than the leaf ones I've created but the pendant is my favorite.  

I really love wire-wrapping and the versatility it gives me in the design. I hope you enjoy.

Chain gang...

My hands are killing me so I'm going to keep this short!  New earrings with a whole lot of chain and just a little bit of color!  Love them... Hope you do too!\

Squared

Just like in my last blog post A Little Noisy, I used these square drops because I love the noise they make. Oh, and they look cool.  ;)

For these earrings, I used seven drops that hang from a hoop with a bunch of glass beads on it.  They do make little tinkling noises when they hit against each other.  I love the raspberry the most (don't tell the others) but they all look so good next to the brass.

I've been making so many new things lately and I'm really trying to keep the pictures coming.  :D  I hope you enjoy.  And back to work I go!

A rainbow of colors

Well, maybe I'm missing a few colors here, but I'll work on it.  :)  

I tend to love big bold earrings, but sometimes I keep it simple.  These earrings are aptly named "Simply" because they are simply easy to wear. Especially if you want to add just a pop of color to your outfit (or none with the white.)

The green makes me super happy today since it looks like ALL of the snow here will finally be gone.  Spring is here!  And Spring green is one of my favorite colors.

I am going to make more in different colors too, and I always take requests!  What color would you like to see or which is your favorite color?

The Long and Short of It...

Usually my jewelry is pretty dramatic. I like big bold earrings and necklaces... it's what I wear after all.

And then sometimes I make things that I love... that surprise me.  Because they aren't so big and fun and crazy.  But they are still lovely and unique and bold, but more mellow.  Like these earrings:

Here is one of the pairs that are a little wild and crazy and fun! They are 4.25 inches long and amazing in their simplicity too. Their sheer size and length make them sassy.  They will be available online shortly too, but if you want them, call dibs in comments.  :)

And here I go to my day job again where I'll be dreaming of creating pretty things when I have a second or two to think.

New Stuff - April 2013

I have been a busy little bunny lately...  My jewelry will soon be in a shop in the Albertville Outlet Mall, so I'm trying to stock up a bit.  It's a very big, very busy mall and I'm just so excited to have my pretty handmade pieces in a shop there.... It blows my mind really.

Here are some things I've been working on....

I made a few pairs of the following three earrings already in Onyx and one in Citrine. I loved the design so much that I had to make more.  So, here are the newbies- Picture Jasper, Amethyst, and White Feldspar.  

Gemstones next to antiqued copper chain just makes me happy. I love the combo of the White Feldspar and Copper, it's just so dramatic and the pretty Picture Jasper is just so mellow... And Amethyst, well, how could you not love it next to copper...?

These earrings are really similar to the Heat earrings which I sell a lot of and get compliments continually on when I wear mine... but I expanded them a bit.  Two big brass beads add about 3/4 of an inch, so they are big ones.  3.5 inches from earhook to tip of the small bead at the bottom.  Gotta love the long earrings!

These are a little simpler AND shorter than the ones above, since I know not everyone loooooves long earrings like me.  I love the bright blue against the antique copper, it's just such a dramatic combo.

Spotlight - On Our Side

Spotlight on the On Our Side earrings!

I feel like I create a lot of things, but never really get a chance to explain why I make them and why I name them certain ways.... So I'm going to do a Spotlight on certain pieces so you can get a peek into my brain.  :D

This earring design came to me after I had been doing inventory and I realized that I had a bunch of really funky jewelry, but lacked simpler pieces with just a little less sass.  In case there are people out there who aren't as sassy as me....  Or less flashy.  (Note: I can be a bit of a diva. I admit my faults.)

They are still a little long at 2 inches from the earhook, so they have substance, but are sleek since they only have the one strand of the two beads.  I picked four colors that I thought looked amazing next to the antique brass beads and findings.  They translucent beads look amazing, I think.

The name came from a song.  You may have heard it- Time is on my Side by The Rolling Stones! I had this song stuck in my head for a week. It was driving me bonkers, but it fit the earrings.  The vintage feel, but they really won't go out of style.... Time is on your side with these guys.  :D

These earrings are made out of Antiqued Copper and Czech Glass beads. They are 1 3/4 inches from the leverback earhook. Very sweet, simple earrings.  They retail for $10.

New Colors

These Heat Earrings have been my favorite design since I started making them. They are also my biggest seller.

Since it's Spring (well, it's trying to be Spring in Minnesota) and I love bright, fun colors, I thought this turquoise blue would be a nice new addition.

It's such a pretty, sweet color.

I've also decided to do a color of the month.... I'm going to let my fans vote from now on, but I picked TANGERINE for May.  I'm so in love with the pale orange, though I'm thinking I'll purchase the bolder, brighter Tangerine in Opaque next.  Orange is my favorite color, so why not, right?

The Heat in Tangerine are so summery...  I just love it!
