No Words Needed

Silver Is In

I've been listing a bunch of different items on etsy lately. Usually it's my antique brass designs, but quite a few silver pieces have been popping up too!

I just listed the Sky earrings today ($20).

The turquoise glass makes me wish that it hadn't just snowed last night.... It would be wonderful to see some sun and bright blue sky!

The Droplet earrings ($25) are one of my new favorites because they are so shiny.  Just imagine the sunlight hitting these... They would blind someone with their blinginess!  :D

I had a miniature version of them too, but they sold at a home party I had last weekend.  I'll have to make more since they are so cute.  Any colors you'd like to see?  Or should I stick with the shiny faceted beads?

Broken ($25) was a happy accident... I was being slightly impatient, which I'm known for, and the metal separated instead of fusing.  They were going to be a round hoop like the Sky earrings, but they have a little extra funk going for them now.  You can't see the gap in the picture, so you'll have to click the picture or link above!

I'm thinking of doing the Droplet design with these clear faceted AB finished beads.  They might be even shinier! 

Round and Round it goes, where it stops, no one knows!

The Round and Round ($15) earrings are my most basic design.   They are about 1 inch in diameter.  I've done a few different finishes on them too. 

To the left is the tarnished pair. I liked the black, but I polished just the edges for some added fun. You can find the original, shiny silver pair here: Round and Round in Silver!




I'm not feeling so swell today, thanks to my darling fiance.  He gave me his cold.  Otherwise, I'd run to my table and start making more silver pieces.  I think I'll take a quick nap instead!

I Made It!

I've been adding more items to my Etsy shop, Jenny Bunny, since I changed my normal site to just redirect to my blog, facebook, twitter and Etsy shop! Here are just two of my most recent (and fave) relocated pieces!

My first wholesale order

I got my first request for a wholesale order a few weeks ago. I wasn't sure I was going to be able to get 62 pieces of jewelry made in just about a week and a half.

I did it though.

Here are about half of the items. I didn't get much chance to take pictures of them, but I grabbed a few.

If you like anything, you just let me know and I can recreate anything you see here. Well, except maybe the first pair of earrings. I'm tapped out on vintage chain this dainty!

Peachy Keen.
These were originally on Etsy. I had to make seven more pairs for my order!

Vintage chain, usually of the slightly tarnished brass persuasion and a cute peach colored enamel drop.







These were White Hot before I had to make them in different colors. Now they are called Heat.

Antique brass and Czech pressed glass beads.

These were probably my favorite pairs to work on just because they came out so lovely with each different color.







These were Orange Dream, but again, I had to change the name since I was asked to make several different colors.

I love the coffee colored ones.








Goddess is and always has been one of my favorite bracelets. I hadn't even thought to do it in different colors since it looks so lovely in the pearl color.

Since it was requested in red and blue, though, I made them and fell in love with the different colors. I intend to make a few other colors too, just to see what they look like.





Telling has also been one of my favorite bracelets for it's simplicity. I like combining colors in my jewelry arsenal, so these are the perfect small addition.

The gray is so lovely next to the antique brass. I'll be making one for myself in the near future!








Showdown along with Detta were the only two pieces of my Drawing of the Three line that were requested. Both the earrings and bracelet are simple, easy to wear pieces.

I love Showdown in Coffee too.

Pendants

I've never been into making pendants before, so I sort of surprised myself when I started working on a few.... And I really liked them.



I fused the Argentium Silver into a larger hoop, then fused a smaller hoop around it (for the necklace chain to go through). To create some depth, I hammered and filed down the hoops also. I then wire wrapped Amethyst around the smaller one and Citrine around the larger one. I tried to keep it really organic and non-uniform. Unbalanced jewelry makes me happy!

Quasi-Brownie

So, most of you probably don't get the brownie references, so I'll explain. On one of my lovely networking/connecting site, a lovely lady started a group. It's a group solely for offering advice to others on staying motivated and not staying inert. It's the Inertia Cafe!

Well, I set a goal to accomplish. I accomplished it. I get brownies. I could make real brownies. I will make real brownies. Right now though, just being able to work and create is my brownies. Here are just a few things I've been cracking out... And really enjoying making! I hand made each piece of each of these too!

Lessons.

I have many things to learn. "They" say, if you stop learning, you die.. I don't know who "they" are, but "they" say it. At least, I've heard "they" say that...

Well, last night, I spent four hours with my torch and a pile of Argentium Silver. Yes, four hours. It was great too. I made my first pair of earrings. Mind you, they aren't perfect, but they are pretty. Perfectly my style even. I can't wait to show them off.

Fusing has taught me to have a bit more patience. Metal can't be rushed when you are melting it... It's amazing to watch it go from it's silver color, to slightly darker and finally to molten red. I'm really quite amazed with it.

The main reason I'm so into fusing though, is the fact that I can make my own headpins. Headpins, even though so little, tend to cost big bucks. It's much cheaper for me to make my own! I can also pass on that reward to my customers... I hate overcharging. I DO charge for my time, so if I'm fusing, my items are going to be more expensive anyway. Making my own headpins will just make my items more affordable!

I can't wait to keep learning and showing off my items... Hopefully they just keep getting better!
