I've been seriously cleaning my house because, well, it needs it. Heavy Metal

As I'm shifting back into creating mode, I find myself drawn to all of my metal beads and findings.  I have a lot, but not enough.  How does that work?

Here are just a few new pieces where you can see the new love of metal comes out.  The bright copper next to turquoise is an old classic, but I couldn't resist.

And brass next to white and black... It was just a no brainer for me.  The faceted crystal and black beads shine against the muted white and brass.  A little funky, but I love it.  Hope you do too.

Caramel and cream with brass.  So pretty.  I've been debating on keeping this one for myself, but I'll just have to make another if I want to.  :D

Hope your Thursday is awesome!

What a beast...

Gosh, this year has been crazy.  I don't know how I've stayed sane through all the craziness.  We bought a house, I have had three funerals to attend and I work. A lot.  And many other less life changing things...

Maybe I haven't stayed exactly sane, since I've had to push aside my pretty little jewelry business to take care of all the rest.  And, as a creative person, making things makes me happy.  It fulfills me like (almost) nothing else can.  So, yesterday and today, I've let the dishes sit.  I've watched (peripherally only) enough TV to last a life time.  And I loved it.  I did sneak in some family time for Easter too, but only after four hours of sleep.  Ooops.

I haven't taken any pictures of jewelry yet, but I will.  Tuesday, is the plan.

Happy New Year

It's a new year...  Last year was a little wild, so I'm hoping this year can just settle down a bit. :D

I don't tend to make resolutions because I never stick with them.  So I'm just hoping for a happy year, filled with joy spent with family and friends.  And I hope the same for you all too.

To start this New Year off right I've mini-golfed, watched Skyfall and hung out with friends.... Right now I'm watching fail videos on Youtube while typing.  Don't know if that's a good thing, but whatever. :P

And I decided to have a 30% off sale until this Saturday.

Crazy... Crazy... Crazy....

Holy carp... It's been since the beginning of June that I blogged last.  It's been a wild couple of months....

I have only a picture to explain part of the craziness.....  Yes, that is my car.  Yes, the back hatch fell off.  Yes, this is my life.

ON a happy note, it's getting fixed.  And I'm over the hysterical crying... Because, really, who's hatch falls off their car!?

Anyway.  Back to awesome things.

Heavy Metal is made of Miyuki Hex Cut Seed Beads.  A whole lotta strands in three different colors.  It's my new favorite piece too.  I'm going to make one for myself soon!

Orange Dreamsicle is super yummy... I'm digging the silver with the tangerine.  A sunny, summery combo!

Lemon Drop

So... I walk into work today with the earrings you see over on the right there and stole them right out of my hand!

I had just finished them last night, too. I fused the Argentium silver to make the teardrop... I made each of the tiny headpins.... I even made the earhooks. I then hammered the metal for some texture... filed it down a bit to add more texture.

Basically, they were labor-intensive earrings. And I love them.

I decided to name them Lemon Drop after one of my favorite shops on etsy: Lemon Drop Studio. If you asked me to pick my favorite from her shop... I couldn't! I love everything!
