Protection is very important.

It's true. You know it... But I'm talking about eye protection here.

I use a Dremel. Actually, I just started using my Dremel. I don't know where my brain was, but I just sort of forgot about it... I'm a bit of a ditz. I can admit that, ok.

Here is my advice as a novice Dremel operator- Wear goggles.

Tiny shards of metal flying at your face at a high velocity is not fun. I have no flesh wounds and I have both my eyes. I almost lost one though.

Some day I'll post a photo of me in my sexy goggles. For now, you'll just have to try to picture me with a big weird shield of plastic over my eyes.

Pendants

I've never been into making pendants before, so I sort of surprised myself when I started working on a few.... And I really liked them.

I fused the Argentium Silver into a larger hoop, then fused a smaller hoop around it (for the necklace chain to go through). To create some depth, I hammered and filed down the hoops also. I then wire wrapped Amethyst around the smaller one and Citrine around the larger one. I tried to keep it really organic and non-uniform. Unbalanced jewelry makes me happy!

Hope you enjoy!

Summertime, time, time,
Child, the living's easy.
Fish are jumping out
And the cotton, Lord,
Cotton's high, Lord so high.
Your daddy's rich
And your ma is so good-looking, baby.
She's a-looking good now,
Hush, baby, baby, baby, baby now,
No, no, no, no, no, no, no,
Don't you cry, don't you cry.
One of these mornings
You're gonna rise, rise up singing,
You're gonna spread your wings, child,
And take, take to the sky,
Lord, the sky.
But until that morning,
Honey, n-n-nothing's going to harm ya,
No, no, no no, no no, no...
Don't you cry — cry.

TGIF

Thank God it's Friday! It's been a long week. It really has been.

I've been working on modifying my site to make it easier for my customers to check out. It's been fairly easy, but takes a bit of time!

Soon, I promise, soon, there will be new photos... Probably once a week or more... I just have to get time to photograph and get the other business stuff situated!

Bear with me!

Hope you have a great Father's Day weekend! Spoil your poppa! He deserves it!

Quasi-Brownie

So, most of you probably don't get the brownie references, so I'll explain. On one of my lovely networking/connecting site, a lovely lady started a group. It's a group solely for offering advice to others on staying motivated and not staying inert. It's the Inertia Cafe!

Well, I set a goal to accomplish. I accomplished it. I get brownies. I could make real brownies. I will make real brownies. Right now though, just being able to work and create is my brownies. Here are just a few things I've been cracking out... And really enjoying making! I hand made each piece of each of these too!

I haven't listed them yet, but I will soon!

Brownie time!

Ok, so a brownie is my reward for unpacking all of my studio stuff! I did it! I did it!

I'm so happy to be done... I even got a chance to work! It's been about two weeks! I was seriously going a little loco NOT creating.

As soon as I have my camera, I'll take some photos of the new things!

I hope you had a great day!

One box down...

A few hundred to go....

Ok, it's not really that bad. I gave myself a goal of clearing out at least one box this last Friday. I put it off until Sunday and cleaned out two more. I think I made up for my slackage... Is that a word? It is now.

We set up my craft table too... I'll have so much room! SO MUCH ROOM TO WORK! *shrieks with glee* I did just shriek too. In my head.

My problem has always been organization. I'm, plain and simple, not good at it. Why? Because I have no follow through. Now, though, I'm focusing on how much I love being organized and taking the time to maintain it. I can't say I'm enjoying it just yet, but it is what it is.

I know Joe will appreciate it. His OCD/ADD brain was annoyed wiht me constantly... I had a pile o' mess. Now I will not.

Goal for tonight: Organize Jewelry into it's respective areas.

If I have time: Eat a sammich.

It begins.

I've been slacking as of late. The whole moving thing really has me at a standstill. I don't know where to start, what to add, what to subtract....

I got the idea of laying out my goals some where where I might actually be held accountable to them from this blog on Savor the Success!

Here I go:

1.) Be accountable- Hopefully telling you my goals, you, dear reader/friend, will help me stay on track. Feel free to kick my booty if I slack off at all, ok?

2.) Here are a few of my current/necessary goals:
  • Unpack
  • Organize my art supplies into functional and easy-to-keep organized areas
  • Create a space solely for business paper work

3.) Here are a few long-term goals:

  • Maintain each of my goals
  • Expand my business through networking, advertizing and parties
  • Stay organized

(I'm sure more will come to me... I hope.... they will.. They'll change, right?)

4.) And now the hard part... I'm actually going to do all of these things!

Oh, it's a little scary to think that it's only ME who is in my way. I'm a force to be reckoned with, at least to myself.

Once I see the changes happening, in a postive way, I'm sure that I'll be less scared and more inspired to do more and achieve even more.

xoxo
